Sulfur
Sulfur is a chemical element with the symbol S and atomic number 16. It is a yellow nonmetal widely found in nature, both in its native form and as part of minerals and compounds. Sulfur has high chemical reactivity and is one of the key elements used in industry. Due to its properties, sulfur plays an important role in chemical production, agriculture, metallurgy, and energy.

Applications of sulfur include:
  • Production of sulfuric acid
  • Chemical industry
  • Production of mineral fertilizers
  • Oil refining
  • Metallurgy
  • Rubber industry
  • Battery production
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Agriculture
  • Production of matches, dyes, and explosives
The majority of extracted sulfur is used for the production of sulfuric acid, which is considered one of the most important products of the global chemical industry. Sulfur is also used in rubber vulcanization, refining of petroleum products, production of plant protection products, and various chemical reagents.

Due to its antiseptic and chemical properties, sulfur is used in medicine and cosmetology, as well as in the production of specialized materials and industrial compounds. In the energy and metallurgical sectors, sulfur plays an important role in raw material processing and product purification processes.
